Small and perfectly formed
We are a small, family operator of care homes, our organisational structure is flat, agile and small enough that good habits and best practices are easily shared or operationalised. With a hands-on, operationally focused owner, we can adapt quickly to shifting customer expectations or regulatory updates.
We are great at dealing with problems before they arise and finding a practical solution that works for everyone across all our locations.
Hudson Healthcare is a family owned care provider of residential, dementia and nursing care across two sites in Scotland and two in England. These locations have been owned and operated by Hudson Healthcare since 2013. In that time, we have learned how to build vibrant communities of people, communities with that intangible something that is so hard to replicate but which gives a place energy and positivity, for residents and staff alike.

Hudson Healthcare delivers a higher standard of living by building communities that enrich and nurture all its participants, embracing residents, families, and staff, and creating ‘whole home’ experiences where everyone, from administrators to housekeepers, from nurses to maintenance, has a part to play. Where the sum is far greater than its constituent parts, creating something that is homely and which sustains everyone. Our social channels and web pages are brimming with examples of our vibrant, life-affirming home life.
Unlike traditional lumbering corporate care providers, Hudson Healthcare operates with a remarkably flat organisational structure. This lack of bureaucracy allows the group to be highly agile, sensing and responding to resident or family feedback, staff requests or suggestions, and embedding our homes within their local communities.
Hudson’s owner is active across the business, ensuring that standards and values are upheld across our four locations.
Our team
Our managers have over 100 years of care experience between them, and three have served as home managers at Hudson for over 5 years. That level of continuity is rare within our industry, and it has allowed our communities to mature into something special.

Transparency and continuity
A core pillar of our operational approach is reducing agency staffing, either by eliminating it altogether or keeping it to a minimum. By maintaining a stable, permanent workforce, we ensure a continuity of care, which is all to rare within the care sector. This helps many areas of our business; no more so than for our residents and families who benefit from reconisable faces and stable relationships that underpin good care and companionship.
A commitment to transparency helps as well: Hudson publishes daily updates on all main social channels and across all 4 of its locations, providing a near real-time window into the nursing home environment for family reassurance.
By also cultivating supportive real-world groups and events, and maintaining an open-door policy, Hudson Healthcare treats families as a vital aspect of its care provision. A recent party at our Pitkerro home attracted over 150 guests! This combination of clinical excellence, rapid decision-making, digital openness and strong patronage ensures a modern care environment that is both professionally rigorous and exceptionally responsive to those it serves.

My relative moved here a few weeks ago and so far seems very happy, every time I visit staff are very attentive and friendly, lovely hot meals are served and lots of entertainment including Bingo and singers ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
From the first phone call and then meeting Sandy our experience has been excellent. Donna , Helen and Sandy have always shown a genuinely caring, friendly yet professional manner to ourselves and family members. This echoes throughout the whole team. They all show patience and understanding as well as sense of humour. Having supported our loved one for many years at home, they have helped make the transition to their care home the best it can be. We feel supported & listened to as a whole family not just our family member who is now a permanent resident. Different activities available in the home have helped him become more stimulated and being able to share coffee and cake in the cafe becomes a lovely social experience. Visited Lornebank of a few occasions. Lovely care/home centre, well run and very professional. Very clean and good facilities. Staff and management are all lovely and provide very good care for the residents. Special mention to Karen from Activities, who ensures there is plenty happening to keep their residents amused.
I entertain at this home on a regular basis at least once a month and would like to say to all the carers what a wonderful job you do always happy and helpful and caring from the Manager and administrator to the cleaning staff and volunteers always a smile and a warm welcome nothing is too much trouble I would recommend this home as one of the nicest I’ve been to

Located in the north of the city, the home is adjacent to Finlathen Park and the pathway that runs along the Dighty Burn.
Sandiacre Court

Situated close to J25 of the M1 and equidistant between Nottingham and Derby. Nottingham is accessible by the i4 bus, which stops right outside our home. Sandiacre Court overlooks the historic Erewash Valley with its fascinating industrial heritage.
