What we do
Dedicated to high-quality nursing and dementia care in Hamilton, Lornebank Care Centre is a bustling and companionable Hamilton care home for 74 residents. The facility is intelligently designed across five units, each offering tailored environments for the elderly, with Peacock offering dedicated dementia and specialised support for residents with more advanced forms of dementia.
In addition to long-term residential support, the centre provides expert palliative care and end-of-life care, with registered nurses working alongside local health professionals to ensure dignity and comfort.
With a new senior team in place, Lornebank welcomes families to come and sample our unique atmosphere of mutual support and companionship.
Where we do it
Lornebank Care Centre is located in the heart of Hamilton, Lanarkshire, just a few minutes’ walk from Hamilton West station. Our Hamilton nursing home draws residents from local towns such as Blantyre, Bellshill, Motherwell, Cambuslang, Larkhall and Bothwell.
With free on-site and on-street parking, visiting our care community is always straightforward.
We have many residents with varying memory care needs including a dedicate suite for those with more advanced forms of dementia, our Peacock suite.
We have 74 residents, all with en-suite rooms, who receive nursing care. Nursing care provides 24/7 clinical support from registered nurses for complex medical needs. It combines professional healthcare, such as wound management and medication, with compassionate assistance in a safe residential environment.
Respite
Care in Hamilton
We accept shorter stays, respite care breaks to allow loved ones a break from caring or to allow for recuperation post-operation. There is a minimum of 2 weeks for any respite stay.

We love a day out, whether it’s a trip to the Kelpies, a coastal visit, or perhaps the Low Parks Museum in Hamilton. Oh, and a spot of Ten Pin Bowls!

On Monday Stormcloud Alpacas Strathaven brought along Charlie and Chase, two of the best-natured alpacas you will ever find! We all really enjoyed meeting them in the summer sunshine. They were so patient with us, and everybody got to say hello and there were smiles all round. Some lovely pictures here.
At Lornebank, we believe that you should maintain your interests; age is no barrier to what we have always enjoyed. We try to accommodate these interests and even encourage them. Often residents like to 'show and tell' their hobbies or pastimes with other residents or staff members. Here Margaret shows us all how to knit and Andy enjoys his weekly trip to the Academical Vaults for a pint and a blather.

Visited Lornebank of a few occasions. Lovely care/home centre, well run and very professional. Very clean and good facilities. Staff and management are all lovely and provide very good care for the residents. Special mention to Karen from Activities, who ensures there is plenty happening to keep their residents amused.

I honestly cannot praise this home enough for the care and kindness they show towards my mum. Every member of staff is so caring, patient and compassionate, and it is clear that they genuinely care about the residents. The home is lovely, clean and welcoming, with a calm and friendly atmosphere. We are always made to feel welcome and kept informed about Mum’s care, which gives our family great peace of mind. Knowing Mum is safe, happy and so well cared for means everything to us.

My mum has been a resident of Lornebank for just over two years. She is well cared for in Livingstone unit by Margo,Shannon, Debbie, Aisha and the rest of the team. Mum is content and comfortable. Communication is good with the home and I am contacted regularly with any concerns or issues. There is a friendly ethos in the home. Ann Marie on Reception is particularly friendly and helpful and always has a welcoming word and smile.

Our meals
Meal times are when we all come together in each of the dining areas on each floor. We do this between 12-30pm and 13-30pm each day, so please keep visiting at these hours to a minimum. As you can appreciate, it gets pretty busy, and for our residents, it’s an important time.
Chef always likes to use locally sourced, seasonal fare whenever possible, but meals are always tasty and comforting. Our chef likes to follow the food and check that residents are happy with the dishes and that all dietary requirements are being met. We have been known to grow our own herbs, so sometimes the ingredients are very local indeed!
What are the care fees for our nursing home in Hamilton?
- At Lornebank Care Centre, we operate a transparent person-centred pricing schedule, based on your individual needs.
- A full assessment of your needs will be carried out prior to admission to determine your individual needs, how we may meet them, and the cost of care.
- We understand that needs can change over time and we continue to assess these on an ongoing basis to ensure that all our resident’s receive the care they need at all times.
- Should you be entitled to funding by a Local Authority, such as South Lanarkshire Council, the NHS or any other third party, this will count towards the overall weekly fee and you or your representative will only be liable to pay for any portion of the cost not covered by the third-party funding
- There are small premiums for some rooms.
- Lornebank Care Centre currently has room availability (updated daily) across all Nursing Care and Dementia Care services and welcomes enquiries from privately funded individuals.

Meet our manager
My name is Jane and I am the general manager at Lornebank Care Centre. Thank you for taking the time to look further into what we have to offer here at our nursing home in Hamilton, Lanarkshire.
I recently joined Hudson healthcare in May 2026 previously having worked across NHS and private sector covering roles such as general manager, senior general manager and recently regional director. I qualified as a nurse in 2006 have achieved my degree in nursing at Stirling university. Fifteen years of management experience has allowed me to bring experience that I am sure will benefit resident outcomes and make Lornebank a great home choice for the residents.
I am fortunate to have two grown up children and four grandsons who live close by to me. I share my home with my partner and Baillie, who is my loveable boy, pet Shih tzu.
Swimming and walking are how I enjoy my free time alongside reading the odd Danielle Steele novel.

My name is Tracey and I am resonsible for leading the performance of our non-clincal care at Lornebank Care Centre.
I am delighted to be joining the Hamilton team. I have worked in the care sector since 1992 gaining experience across a variety of roles including leadership, staff development, and training. I am passionate about providing high-quality person-centred care and supporting teams to achieve the best outcomes for residents.
I am looking forward to getting to know everyone, learning more about the service, and contributing my experience while continuing to develop professionally.

My name is Nicola and I am responsible for all clinical care at our Hamilton nursing home.
I have worked across palliative care, acute and surgical hospital services, and the care home sector, where I’ve held roles including Clinical Lead, Deputy Manager, Quality Assurance, and Practice Education. I am passionate about delivering excellent care, supporting teams to succeed, and driving quality improvements.
Outside work, you’ll usually find me outdoors with my dogs. I’m excited to join the company and am looking forward to building a long-term future here while making a positive contribution to the team and the people we support.

Unlike many nursing homes in Hamilton, we pride ourselves on maintaining a stable, non-agency staff team. This ensures that our residents see familiar faces every day, which is especially vital for those in our dementia units where routine and trust are essential for well-being.
Absolutely. We believe in total transparency. In addition to direct communication with our nursing team, we share regular updates and photos on our social media pages. This allows families to see the “meaningful moments” their loved ones enjoy, from therapeutic animal visits to social café sessions.
We operate at or near to full capacity but we often have a room free as the situation is very fluid. If we are full, we operate a waiting list, but at this current moment, we have a handful of rooms available. This is updated weekly.
