From the Dundee nursing home that can’t keep still, it is no great surprise that we regularly get over 100 people attending our discos. Dancing is a popular past time at our home, whether its the silent discos enjoyed by the residents or the full on, family discos that are so popular and which so much to bring residents and families together at a setting outside of our home.
Pitkerro Care Centre in Dundee is renowned for throwing some of the best discos this side of north Dundee. The nursing home’s events are all about creating a sense of community and connection among residents, staff, and visitors alike, and their discos are a perfect example of this in action. Our last mass event made nearly £1200 for our residents activities and wellbeing fund.
It’s not just about the music, though – the discos are packed with games, activities, and plenty of opportunities for socialising, making them a highlight of the week for many residents.
The care centre’s approach to care is all about empowering residents to live their best lives, and these discos play a big part in that. They’re a chance for people to get out of their comfort zones, have some fun, and make memories with friends. And with the energetic carers and nurses joining in residents have a great of fun. Our manager Linsey Robbie, has been known to enjoy a little dance too.
