Nursing Care Services
Who is it for?
Nursing care is a higher level of clinical support for individuals with more complex medical needs that require regular supervision by a registered nurse
While residential care focuses on daily living and social support, nursing care is all this but also clinical management. In a nursing home, a qualified nurse is on-site 24 hours a day to perform tasks that care assistants are not legally or clinically permitted to do.
If an individual requires wound management, vital signs monitoring, medication, or medical equipment care, such as PEG feeding tubes, catheters, stomas, or oxygen, there is a good chance nursing care is required. An assessment by one of our experienced managers will determine the level of dependency, which will, in turn, influence the final weekly care package.
Clearly, there is a need to assess individuals’ care needs over time, so regular appraisals are in everyone’s best interests.
Medical conditions that we manage include the following:
| Category | Typical Medical Conditions |
| Cardiovascular | Congestive Heart Failure, Hypertension, Post-Stroke (CVA) |
| Respiratory | COPD, Emphysema, Chronic Bronchitis, Pneumonia |
| Neurological | Advanced Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease |
| Endocrine | Type 1 or Advanced Type 2 Diabetes |
| Renal/Urological | Chronic Kidney Disease, Chronic UTIs |
| Skin & Tissue | Pressure Ulcers (Bedsores), Surgical Wounds, Cellulitis |
| Gastrointestinal | Severe Malnutrition, Crohn’s Disease |
| Palliative | Terminal illness (Cancer, End-stage Organ Failure) |
Our person-centred planning has at its core the idea that everyone is entitled to a dignified, stimulating quality of living, a lifestyle that, with reason, is not determined by their condition. Nurses and carers work together to ensure that those in nursing suites receive the same level of emotional and social engagement as those in more independent residential areas.
