Residential Care Services
Who is it for?
Residential care at Hudson Healthcare is designed to bridge the gap between independent living and higher dependency medical nursing, providing a place that feels like home where each resident benefits from dignified care and a sense of community.
Residents at Harbour Healthcare have chosen our care homes because they may need help in looking after themselves, maybe they find dressing difficult or can no longer feel that they can cook for themselves. Their domestic situation may feel overwhelming, and they are unable to maintain their properties and keep up with life administrations. Maybe they have become more forgetful and life administartion has become hard to keep on top of as a result? They may have mobility issues or can no longer maintain a suitable level of personal hygiene, and they may, of course, just feel isolated or lonely.
These are all reasons to seek out a care home, but this should come at the expense of that individual’s sense of self, or their sense of purpose. Finding care should not mean the end of their relationships within the local community or with friends. Rather it should support them in living the kind of life that they were accustomed to.
Our residents lead purposeful lives
At Hudson Healthcare, residential care is a celebration of life, of companionship and joy. In our homely residential care suites, we find that residents come together in a spirit of friendship to try out new things, enjoy new experiences and learn new skills. As a baseline, we work with the interests and life history of each resident to shape the programme of activities, but equally, we like to engender a spirit of joyous exploration.
Bespoke Care Planning: Every resident has a personalised care plan that respects their independence. Residents on the residential care suite often lead more independent lives, engaging regularly in mental stimulation like puzzles and art. Residents come and go as they please, often organising their own activities or going en masse to the local pub for a tea or something a ittle stronger.
