Harbour Residential Praised for Top Quality Care Throughout Pandemic

A big thank you to the North Somerset Times for their fantastic print and online pieces on our home in this week’s publication. We cannot thank Judy Pride enough for her kind words.

It is no secret that the Covid-19 pandemic has been particularly tough on families with elderly relatives and for Judy Pride, Harbour Residential Care Centre has been a saving grace for her 92 year old father. When Brian Reynold’s live-in carer needed to take some time off, Judy looked to homes in the local area offering respite care. The professionalism and kindness displayed by Harbour Residential’s team made it an easy choice and she never looked back.

From the outset, Judy and Brian were made to feel like part of a new family and were instantly put at ease. Judy was given all necessary information and was kept regularly informed on all goings on. The home’s new care planning system allows for the mapping of bespoke and thorough care packages, whilst enabling family members to provide their input every step of the way. Thanks to Harbour Residential’s carefully planned out visiting measures, Judy was also able to see Brian safely at a distance in the garden.

Throughout his two week respite, Brian thoroughly enjoyed the company of his fellow residents and the home’s friendly staff, who always greet residents and family by name. Judy praised Home Manager Samuel Okello and his outstanding team, who are taking care of those most vulnerable at the most difficult time imaginable. She also commended their excellent handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, continuing to provide top quality care, whilst ensuring the highest level of safety.

Judy Pride said: “We have been delighted with the care my father received when he stayed for two weeks to allow his carer to have a holiday herself. We were naturally worried that we would even be able to find a care home that would consider respite during the Covid-19 outbreak and have been so pleased with the way everything was organised beforehand and during his stay. He would like to say a big thank you to all the lovely staff and to the chef who produced such plentiful, high quality food at every meal. The home feels like a home from home, where all the staff and residents are a family. The standard of cleaning is exceptional and the atmosphere airy and sweet. Thank you again and Dad is already planning his next visit to his “home from home”.
