Update

As the situation in our home develops, we have insisted on receiving access to additional testing to safeguard the health and wellbeing of all our residents and staff as much as we possibly can. It is thanks to this early detection that we have identified further additional positive individuals, and been able to take the necessary precautions to limit the wider spread, quickly and early. While this is of course an understandable cause for concern, and we continue to take this matter extremely seriously, it is somewhat comforting to report that the majority of our residents and staff members who have tested positive are in most cases exhibiting no or mild symptoms.

Due to the current situation, we are sad to share that in-person visitation at Lornebank Care Centre is unable to resume for now, however we encourage you to make use of our Skype and Whatsapp facilities to keep in touch with your loved ones. We are continuing to work in close tandem with Public Health Scotland and the Care Inspectorate to rid our home of this virus swiftly, and ensure that all precautions and additional safety measures possible are in place to protect our residents and staff members, including isolation, further testing, the strict use of PPE and distancing, as well as the closure of communal staff spaces.

We once again thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your positive thoughts and encouraging messages, and we thank our staff for their tireless tenacity and dedication. To further support our staff, we have also introduced the availability of a clinical psychologist, to help them manage the mental health implications of this challenging time. We will continue to keep you updated via our Facebook page and website, and if you do have questions or concerns, we encourage you to contact the home on 01698 539440.
